On Thursday the three fifth classes visited Christchurch, Church of Ireland in Rushbrooke.

We had a very interesting and entertaining talk from Rector Paul Arbuthnot who gave us a brief history of the beautiful church and of the Church of Ireland parish in Cobh. He also spoke about the design of the building and all the different things to be found within it.

We were especially interested in the WW1 memorial on the wall which commemorates those from the parish that died in ‘The Great War’.
We study WW1 in fifth class and as this is the centenary of the end of the war this memorial was particularly relevant.
