One of our fourth classes was recently invited to be part of a very exciting, worthwhile project.

The project is concerned with conserving our native oak trees. Sylvia from Cobh Allotments and Anna from Cobh Tidy Towns have ambitions to plant many oak saplings around Great Island.

They shared their knowledge and passion with our pupils. Pupils were invited to collect their own native acorns and all took part in an acorn planting event in the school garden.

We are grateful to Cobh Men’s Shed for providing the planting box and ,as always, to our wonderful caretaker Mr. Mc Carthy for having the box ready for planting!
